Acrobat to Laserfiche

The Acrobat to Laserfiche Connector adds a Laserfiche toolbar to Adobe Acrobat Pro that works in both directions. Send new PDFs into your Laserfiche repository, or open a Laserfiche document in Acrobat, edit it, and save it back as a new version of the original.

Add new documents. Click Save to Laserfiche and a simple popup opens. Browse to a destination folder in the repository and fill in metadata for the right Laserfiche template, including multi-valued fields such as checkbox lists and multi-line text. Then upload the document. The connector confirms the save with the new Laserfiche document ID and remembers each user's last-used folder and template, so repeat sends take only a few seconds.

Start in Laserfiche, finish in Acrobat. Check out a document in the Laserfiche Desktop Client and it opens in Acrobat for editing. When you are done, save it back from the Acrobat toolbar and the connector adds your changes to Laserfiche as a new version of the original document. The document stays in its place in the repository with its version history intact. You don't need to export and re-import it, and no duplicate copies are created.

The connector works from within Laserfiche Desktop Client 12, with both Laserfiche Cloud and on-premise Laserfiche. It is a true native Acrobat SDK plug-in, not a fragile browser-extension-style hack. Laserfiche Cloud sign-in uses OAuth2 with PKCE, so no client secrets are ever stored on the desktop, and any locally cached credentials are encrypted with Windows DPAPI rather than stored in plain text. On-premises deployments can use Windows Integrated Authentication instead, which means no stored credentials at all.

For multi-workstation installations, Laserfiche configuration and licensing can be managed centrally rather than set up desktop by desktop, so Acrobat to Laserfiche is built for fleet deployment.
